During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are committed to protecting students’ health while delivering an exceptional college experience, particularly for international students who face additional travel challenges. USF plans to offer a mix of fully face-to-face courses, fully online courses and some courses with a blended mode of instruction (partially in-person and partially online).

How to Apply

You can apply to USF in just six easy steps.

STEP 1

Complete and submit the online application admissions.usf.edu/intl-apply.

STEP 2

Pay the nonrefundable $30 application fee or submit an application fee waiver.

STEP 3

Review our website for specific requirements based on program of study and degree level. Please note: Graduate and transfer application requirements may vary by program.

STEP 4

Submit your official high school and/or university transcripts in both English and native language.

STEP 5

Submit your official required test scores.
Freshmen/Lower-Level Transfer applicants must submit official SAT or ACT results. USF's code for SAT is 5828 and for ACT is 0761. If score minimums are not met, then an English proficiency exam may be requested.
Upper-level Transfer applicants from non-English-speaking countries who have not previously earned a degree in the United States must provide minimum English proficiency scores: IELTS score of 6.5 taken within 2 years of the desired term of entry, TOEFL score of 79+ (internet-based test), Duolingo English Exam score of 105 or PTE-A score of 53+.
Graduate Students must submit GRE or GMAT test scores as required by their program.
If you do not plan on taking a college admissions test or have scores or a GPA that fall below the requirements for direct entry, you may apply to enter the university through an INTO USF Program. For more information, please visit admissions.usf.edu/intousf
The English Proficiency Exam requirement may be waived if Admissions receives an alternate proof of English proficiency. The alternate proofs of English proficiency are outlined in the academic catalog.

With INTO USF, you can begin earning credits toward your degree even if you don’t meet the academic and English requirements for direct entry. We’ll partner with you each step of the way as you transition to life in the U.S., improve your English skills, and succeed in required courses for your major.

Although USF offers affordable international student tuition rates, we strive to reduce the cost of college even further. Earn an affordable degree from a world-class institution and graduate with minimal debt, no matter what your background.

Admissions Scholarships

When you apply for admission and submit all supporting documents by the deadline,” the Office of Admissions will AUTOMATICALLY consider you for merit-based international admissions scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $48,000. There’s nothing else you need to do to qualify.
