Applying to college as an international student can be a daunting task. We’ll guide you through the entire application process, step-by-step, so you can focus on the excitement of becoming a freshman at USF.

Scholarships

Get Automatic Scholarship Consideration

When you submit all components of your application package (application fee, test scores, transcripts and proof of funding) by February 1, we’ll automatically consider you for merit-based admissions scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $44,000. See if you’re eligible!

International Scholarships  

Get to Know the Admissions Portal

You’ll use USF's Admissions Portal to complete most remaining application tasks. From here, you can see any missing items, upload documents, complete requested forms, check your application status and more. Access the portal any time by logging in with your NetID and password. You should receive an email to activate your NetID shortly after you apply to USF.

How to Complete Your Application

You’ve submitted your application, but that doesn’t mean it’s complete: You may have items that still need your attention. Log into the Admissions Portal to see if you still need to:

Pay Your Application Fee

Pay the nonrefundable, $30 application fee (if you have not done so already). You may pay the fee online via OASIS.

Submit Your Official Transcripts

Submit original or certified copies of academic transcripts, mark sheets, grade reports, diplomas or certificates, national standardized examination results, or other academic course work to USF.

Include a certified English translation for all documents not written in English. If you need assistance translating your documents into English, we recommend using the American Translators Association to find a certified translator.

We can accept digital copies of these secondary and post-secondary school records e-mailed directly from an appropriate official at your school to international@usf.edu. Alternatively, mail your transcripts via post to:

Submit Your SAT or ACT Scores

If you are submitting ACT scores, you are required to submit scores for the Writing section.

Request official SAT scores directly from The College Board. USF's code is 5828. Request official ACT scores directly from ACT, Inc. USF's code is 0761.

You may submit either SAT or ACT scores, but you are encouraged to submit both.

Submit Your IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo Scores

Scores are only required if you are from a non-English speaking country.

Request official IELTS scores directly from the testing agency. Request official TOEFL scores directly from ETS. Our school code is 5828. Request official PTEA scores directly from Pearson. Request official Duolingo scores directly from the testing agency. This requirement may be waived if you have successfully met another requirement of proof of English proficiency as outlined in the USF academic catalog.

Submit Proof of Funding

Send a financial statement that shows funding support based on the estimated cost of attendance for one academic year or two semesters (only required if an F-1 or J-1 visa is required).
